Business Development Specialist
We are seeking a strong Business Development Specialist (BDS) to join our growing team to build relationships with customers with the goal of growing the state and federal contracts revenue of our business. Target government agencies: DOC, US Census Bureau, DHS, HHS, NIH, CMS, HUD, GSA, and DoD. Detailed job description includes:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the company responds to as many requests for quotes (RFQ) and requests for proposals (RFP) as possible.
- Help identify target agencies, vendors and products to add to the contract and will work to ensure that our internal processes for preparing quotes and responding to RFPs and RFQs are as efficient as possible.
- Respond to RFPs/RFQs and requests for information (RFI).
- Under guidance from management, prospect for new business.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience working at any or several of the target government agencies as a Government employee or contractor, with last month worked occurring within the last 2 years.
- 2+ years of proposal development experience in preparing responses to RFPs and RFQs.
- At least 3 years’ proven working experience as a business development specialist or a relevant role in state and federal government contracting market.
- Experience with software development lifecycle, including Agile and CMMI.
- State and/or Federal Contract market knowledge.
- Ability to work with little direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.
